Harold Gatensby, a survivor of the Carcross Residential School in the Yukon found this child's shoe at the site of the original school that burned down in the early 1900's. This is part of Artist Carey Newman of Vancouver Island art installation called The Witness Blanket in the Canadian Museum For Human Rights.The exhibit was created from hundreds of items reclaimed from residential schools, churches, government buildings, and other structures all across Canada.
