Winnipeg Free Press Store
Maurise and Susan Dorge transformed an old Safeway supermarket into a holiday treat. The train started rolling through the old Safeway at 3059 Ness Ave. near Sturgeon Road on Saturday. The couple normally organize the Manitoba Mega Train Show and wanted to find other ways to share the fun. They're tossing around ideas to have the train operate permanently at the facility incorperating a market for crafters and small business and museum on the site... Admission is $5, with $1 donated to charity. You can bring a food donation, for a discounted entry fee. The ride operates from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturdays, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays. It will be closed on Christmas Day.
