MIKE DEAL / WINNIPEG FREE PRESS Winnipeg Speaks In reply to the question, "What is the most important issue for you that needs to be addressed in the upcoming provincial election?" Shawn Garbutt, says, "I think one of the most important issues is the CFS. The way the organization operates and dealings largely with aboriginal populations in Manitoba. I think that we have a pretty high degree of aboriginal population in the province and a great degree of them are concentrated in Winnipeg. I think with things like the Maclean's article that ran last year calling Winnipeg the most racist city, wether that is a true statement or not is up for debate, but I do think that it is bringing to the forefront a conversation that needs to be happening between how the Manitoba government deals with it's aboriginal population, how we can help aboriginal populations grow economically and culturally to become agents of their own." 160315 - Tuesday, March 15, 2016
