Winnipeg Free Press News

Winnipeg Free Press Store
Titanic plaque in City Hall honouring six Winnipeg men who died in the disaster. The plaque is trapped in time in the basement of the Council Building at 510 Main Street and is mounted on the east wall of the building, just at the base of the stairs to the main floor beside the entrance to the Printing Department. (Bart poses for the photos. City Hall was closed and no one else to pose) There are 3 streets supposedly named after 3 Winnipeg Titanic victims, all of whom are identified on the plaque: Fortune Street (after Charles Fortune), Borebank Street (after James Borebank) and Hugo Street (after John Hugo Ross).
