Cody Joseph Kakeeway is suspect in killing - As previously released, on December 7th, 2011 at approximately 3:50 a.m. Winnipeg Police Service members responded to the area of the 700 block of Beverley Street for the sound of shots being fired. Upon arrival officers located an injured adult male in the rear lane suffering from gun shot wounds. Paramedics attended and transported the male to the hospital in critical condition. On December 8th, 2011 during the late evening hours, investigators were notified that the victim had succumbed to his injuries. The victim has been identified as Darren Paul GEORGE, 22 years of Winnipeg.
