Winnipeg, Manitoba – September 22, 2016 – The future of child health research will be on display at the Children’s Hospital Research Institute of Manitoba (CHRIM) 12th annual Child Health Research Day on October 6th.

Every year CHRIM organizes Child Health Research Day to bring together researchers and students/trainees to discuss their research and findings. This year’s theme is Healthy Brain, Healthy Start and will look at the importance of early brain development.

As in year’s past, the highlight of the day will be Dr. Goodbears’ Den taking place from 3 p.m.-430 p.m., where 10 students will have five minutes each to present their work to our keynote speakers. The top 10 students taking part in the oral presentations were selected from 86 abstract submissions that were reviewed by the organizing committee.

We will also welcome two national speakers this year, Dr. Steven Miller from the the Hospital for Sick Children and Dr. Francois Bolduc from the University of Alberta to share their research with our community.

We invite you to attend and learn more about early brain development and the important research taking place here in Winnipeg. For your convenience the agenda for the event is below.

All presentations will take place in the Frederic Gaspard Theatre, Basic Medical Sciences Building, 727 McDermot Ave., University of Manitoba Bannatyne Campus.
