Winnipeg Free Press Archives Winnipeg Home Front June 25, 1940 Situated at McPhillips Street and Higgins Avenue, this is one of three Stop-Hitler junkyards which are being opened by the Manitoba branch of the Canadian Automotive Wholesalers' association in the province. The other two are situated in St. Boniface and Brandon. In the photograph taken Tuesday, are seen G.B. Stirriht, representing the department of munitions and supply, and Mayor John Queen.
