Winnipeg Free Press Archives Winnipeg WWII Home Front October 15, 1945 Winnipeg hospitality was again praised Saturday afternoon when hundreds of British repatriated prisoners of war from the Far East passed through the city over C.P.R lines en route to New York where they will catch a ship that will take them home. Seen at the left is Major William Holohan. of the Loyal, regiment who was captured at Singapore. He was greeted at the station by his brother, 82 | Harry Holohln (left). 488 Kylemore avenue who had "ft seen him for 26 years The brothers, who are from Belfast, both served in the First Great War Some of the British repats are seen at the Bright, receiving refreshments from members of the reception committee.
