Winnipeg Free Press Archives Winnipeg WWII Home Front April 15, 1940 Soldiers Receive Communion About 250 Roman Catholic soldiers from Fort Osborne barracks attended mass Sunday morning in St. Joseph's Vocational school chapel. Following the mass, breakfast was served for the communicants. The breakfast, which was sponsored by the Knights of Columbus, was served by the Sisters, members of the Ladies' auxiliary of the school, and Amicus club girls. The picture shows the soldiers receiving communion.
