Where Winnipeg Soldiers Can Gather The Salvation Army hut opened in the Forum building, Main street, Friday night. A Free Press photographer was on hand and caught some scenes of the event. At the top, left, two soldiers, with steaming hot cups oi coffee, enjoy a game of checkers. Three nurses from Grace hospital, who helped in serving refreshments, are shown at top, right. They are, reading from left to right; Capt. H. Milley, . Capt. L. Hall and Capt. E. Patterson. The picture at lower left shows . a general view of the soldiers enjoying refreshments. At lower right, Brigadier B. W. Browne, officer commanding M.D. 10, is giving an " address at the opening ceremonies. On the platform, reading from left to right, are Major J. L. R. Sutcliffe, Lieut-Col. R. T. Spooner, Brigadier- General Browne, Alderman C. E. Simonite and Captain William Carroll.
