Winnipeg Free Press Archives Winnipeg Old City Hall (8) May 17, 1957 City hall clock tower won't be available for pictures very much longer. If Mayor Juba has his way. He took reporters and cameramen on tour of the rickety tower Friday morn- Ins as a prelude to his request to finance committee that the tower be torn down as a safety measure. Among the "sights" of the tour were the mouldering bones shown in the lower picture. Their origins are lost in legend but the general view is that they are the bones of a goat's body left there years ago by pranksters. At present the floor Is not safe enough for anyone to walk on to remove the bones. fparchive
