PHIL HOSSACK / WINNIPEG FREE PRESS  -  Followed by Speaker Myrna Driedger, Sergeant-at-Arms Ray Gislason carry's Manitoba's first mace into the Legislative Assembly Monday afternoon. See release "In celebration of Manitoba Day, which was on Friday, May 12, the province’s first mace will be put into service for one day only. It has not been used for 133 years. The acting Sergeant-at-Arms will carry it into the Chamber and it will lay on the table along with the Star Blanket Mace Cushion and the Beaded Mace Runner that were gifted to the Legislative Assembly by Aboriginal peoples in 2010. The Speaker will also have a statement in the House".  -  May 15, 2017
