WAYNE GLOWACKI / WINNIPEG FREE PRESS Winnipeg Police closed off the Portage Ave. and Main St. intersection to traffic for almost half an hour Saturday afternoon as about 100 people gathered to celebrate the five-year anniversary of Idle No More. The Bear Clan led the procession including drummers and singers to celebrate the movements accomplishments at the famous intersection. Idle No More activists deemed Dec. 10, 2012, the National Day of Action, which coincided with Amnesty Internationals Human Rights Day. They then took to streets in communities across the country to oppose legislation that eliminated treaty rights and waterway protections. Dec. 23 2017
