MIKE DEAL / WINNIPEG FREE PRESS
(from left) Senator Murray Sinclair, Kelsey Lands, a past participant who turned her internship into a full-time job, and Kevin Chief, VP at Business Council of Manitoba.
The Business Council of Manitoba held a youth career symposium at the Neeginan Centre. Called #YouthCEO, the event saw around 200 youth, including Indigenous and new Canadians, meet with seven of Manitoba's largest companies about careers available and how to get on the path to employment opportunities. Some of the youth traveled several hundred kilometres from their northern Manitoba communities to participate. Senator Murray Sinclair addressed the crowd and urged business leaders to work towards accepting indigenous youth into their workforce.
