MIKE DEAL / WINNIPEG FREE PRESS Lauren Teller, 14, ties a tarp to a tree to create a temporary shelter during a lunch break while other members of the 82nd Pathfinders "She Wolves" chop wood, start a camp fire and cook food in the woods. 350 youth will compete this weekend in the 47th annual Klondike Derby at Scouts Canada's Camp Amisk, just south of the Perimeter Highway. They will demonstrate winter survival skills, learn teamwork and "make new friends." Hosted by Scouts Canada, the Klondike Derby features teams of six to eight Cub Scouts, Girl Guides, Scouts and Pathfinders pulling a Klondike-style sleigh on a 2.5-km journey through the woods. 180303 - Saturday, March 03, 2018.
