Standup KIK Picnic
A girl gives "Squirt" a therapy horse with EAGALA Recovery Services, a kiss and hug at the 17th annual Kids in Kare (KIK) Picnic, at the Forks Thursday. The KIK Picnic is a private event held at the Forks for approximately 800 foster children, foster parents and children from Emergency Placement Shelters served by Child and Family Services of Winnipeg, Eastman and the Interlake.

More Info:
The KIK Picnic is more than just a fun, free event. It’s a place where foster children can relax in an informal environment and meet others just like them. And most of all, for this day, kids just get to be kids!

The picnic is often the highlight of the year for many foster children and their families. Siblings who may not live in the same home get a chance spend time together. And staff whose day-to-day work can be stressful can enjoy a pleasant afternoon with other staff and their foster families.
