Photo description:
Vanda Fleury, a Metis U of M post-grad student has come up with 12 kits for first nations high school classes using artifacts and objects to teach aboriginal kids about their history, where they come from and what they have to be proud about. Standing in the Boreal Forest display at the Manitoba Museum, Vanda Fleury holds one of the six medicine baskets she made for the each kit. Each herbal item in the basket she harvested with elders and tribal medicine specialists last summer. See Carol Sanders story. 120508 - Tuesday, May 08, 2012 - (MIKE DEAL / WINNIPEG FREE PRESS)
