RUTH BONNEVILLE / WINNIPEG FREE PRESS Newcomer youth take part in a skills rodeo as teams try and beat the clock moving a patient (dummy) as quickly and safely as possible on a stretcher through an obstacle course while offering CPR at WFPS Training Academy, on McPhillips St. Friday. More info: Newcomer youth wrap up a week-long career camp by demonstrating skills and knowledge they gained which one day could assist them in pursuing a career as a firefighter, paramedic or 911 call-taker. Some of the skills they learned were, simulating resuscitation on a patient, balancing on a beam, and accurately tossing and hitting a target with a firehose. Standup photo August 10th, 2018
