Local, Bringing Our Children Home Grandmother’s Walk and water ceremony.

A large group of Grandmothers, elders, parents and many other First Nation groups gathered together on the steps of the CMHR to rally for First Nation children in CFS care and to hold water ceremony on Friday.

A group of grandmothers and elders headed up a walk that was attended by dozens of supporters Friday.  The walkers started at the Bell Tower on Selkirk Ave. making their way the CMHR and finally to the Oodena Celebration Circle for a ceremony.   

Grand Chief Arlen Dumas attended the rally at the CMHR and ceremony at Oodena Circle along with Cora Morgan, First Nations Family Advocate at the Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs and other band leaders were in attendance at the ceremony.  

Standup or to go with Water Walk story.
