Winnipeg Free Press News

Winnipeg Free Press Store
Canstar Community News Coun. Devi Sharma (Old Kildonan, left), and Jayme Rochon of the Seven Oaks School Division, accepted a $500 donation from Winnipeg Police Association president Moe Sabourin on behalf of O.V. Jewitt Community School. The school was the first to receive funds from the WPA's anti-bullying program, Cool 2BeKind. Twenty-two schools will each receive $500 towards their specific anti-bullying programs. Over the past nine years, the WPA has funded 223 Winnipeg programs, donating $111,000.
“As each program is designed by students and educators to meet the specific need of the school, it has a much better chance of making an impact,” Sabourin said.
