Winnipeg Free Press News

Winnipeg Free Press Store
Oncology nurse Karen Berube has experienced both sides of the bed, so to speak. She survived Stage 4 colorectal cancer twice, and has been in remission for 17 months. She calls the outcome of her fight with cancer "unexpected," and has returned to work as a part time oncology nurse, saying she, "prefers to give chemotherapy than receive it. Things will never be like they were before, but maybe they will be better. I am so grateful to be back on the other side of the bed." The Canadian Association of Nurses in Oncology: Manitoba Chapter (CANO-MB) and Health Sciences Centre (HSC) Winnipeg celebrated the 10th Annual Oncology Nursing Day at a reception in the John Buhler Research Centre Atrium on April 2, 2013.
