MIKE DEAL / WINNIPEG FREE PRESS Michelle Bailey at Boulevard Meats and Deli in Southdale (49 Vermillion Road) Friday morning getting the shop read for opening. 51-year-old Michelle Bailey never thought she'd leave the well-paying jobs in corporate communications that she worked at for most of her life. But after her last contract ended, Bailey struggled to land any stable work in the field because of the COVID-19 pandemic, despite her nearly three decades of experience. She's now pivoted to a job at a local deli, something she's received a fair bit of side-eyes and taunts for from her friends and extended family.
