RUTH BONNEVILLE / WINNIPEG FREE PRESS A sticker saying Thanks for the memories, is seen on a One-hundred-year-old tree which dates back to 1915, in Winnipeg's Assiniboine Park Conservatory Tuesday. The Tree will be cut down when the conservatory moves into its new multimillion-dollar home but the park's horticulturists may try to take a graft to grow new trees from and it is rumoured that it will be carved into a totem pole and placed in the new facility The conservatory, which park officials say is the first memory many people have of Assiniboine Park, will shut down for good after Easter Monday, Apr. 2nd at 5pm.
