JESSICA LEE / WINNIPEG FREE PRESS November 20, 2021: The day before, on Friday afternoon, my editor Mike Aporius called me and asked if I wanted to go to Churchill, Manitoba the following day. A spot on the plane had unexpectedly opened up. Of course I said yes. I cancelled all my Saturday plans and spent Friday evening preparing for the trip by buying a toque, glove liners and hand and feet warmers. We are going to go to Churchill to report on a brand new electric tundra vehicle and also the fate of the polar bears during the global climate warming. Here is a photo of the sunrise in Winnipeg from the small chartered airport.
