28122022 Members of Brandon’s small but growing Bengali community, primarily from Bangladesh and India, gathered together on Wednesday evening for their first Poush Mela, or Winter Festival in the wheat city at the Central Community Club. The Bengali Community in Brandon consists of approximately 10-15 ethnically Bengali families. They connect through a WhatsApp group and hope to attract more Bengali families from other communities in Westman. The Winter Festival consisted of a variety of performances and a dinner together after. The community is hoping to continue to hold events in Brandon. (Tim Smith/The Brandon Sun)
