The Mutual Aid Society Winnipeg is a grassroots volunteer initiative started by Omar Kinnarath (centre) in March 2020 as a result of increasing need at the beginning of the pandemic. The Facebook group with over 14,000 members helps connect those in need with those able to provide assistance, mostly food, meals and everyday supplies (diapers, formula, clothing etc). The needs continue to be huge and the group has become an important way for those who are struggling to connect with those willing to help. No questions asked.
