The sisters have pooled the money they receive from the province for their disabilities which requires 24/7 home care, but despite that, have gone into $50K debt to hire workers to look after them. They worry they will soon be displaced from their apartment and forced to live in a group home. Murgolo relies on an oxygen tank after catching pneumonia in 2011 and needs help from workers to move around the apartment and to complete daily tasks such as bathing or using the toilet.
