RUTH BONNEVILLE / WINNIPEG FREE PRESS Local - Clearing Bike lane Cyclist Hillary Rosentrete, and a few of her cyclist friends, shovel snow and ice off the bike lane along Arthur Street between McDermot/Notre Dame to make it safer for cyclists on Monday. Story: A group of cyclists who cleared a bike lane on Westminster Avenue last week is clearing ice and ruts from a lane on Arthur Street today, despite the city's veiled warning of possible fines. A tweet from 311 asked them to review the streets bylaw, adding: "In general, residents shouldn't work on, obstruct, or place items in the right of way without a permit." The group says it is respectful and it just wants to be safe while cycling. Story by Chris Kitching Nov 28th, 2022
