RUTH BONNEVILLE / WINNIPEG FREE PRESS Local - River Rules A path onto the Assiniboine River bank just off Palmerstone at Aubrey, leads down a set of makeshift stairs with a wooden handrail. People use it to commute across the frozen river but its slippery and steep. Note: This person in the photo was ok with me getting his picture but didn't want to give me his name. It appeared to me that he was possibly commuting from work to his home on south side of the Assiniboine River. See story. Jan 20th, 2023
