Winnipeg resident Grace Sokolinski almost died while visiting Austria in May when blood clots that formed in her legs broke up and spread to her lungs. She says the care she received from the Austrian medical staff was exceptional, but she was prescribed a medication that is not covered by Pharmacare. Despite being a life or death matter, Manitoba Health recently sent her a letter denying her coverage for the drug which she needs for a period of three to six months. Wednesday, June 26, 2013.
