It is one of several new construction projects which has been delayed/halted. New-home construction in Manitoba slowed significantly overall in April, compared to March and the same time last year. Most of the fall-off is due to a halt in multifamily builds, which typically account for 60 per cent of new projects. Developers are still ailing through tough times with housing supply that was brought on by the pandemic, which shot up interest rates, the cost of materials and created a labour shortage.
