Mike Deal / Winnipeg Free Press
Delon Shell (left) and Janno Truya, employees with City of Winnipeg Municipal Accommodations Aquatics, watch as the Kildonan Park pool slowly fills with city water via the main drainage hole at the bottom of the pool. The water is dirty from debris that was in the empty pool along with old water that accumulated since the pool was drained at the end of the season last year. In about 32 hrs when the pool is full the team will “shock “ or rebalance the water which causes the dirt to float to the bottom when it is then vacuumed up. The water is then tested by a Manitoba Health inspector before it opens to the public on Friday, June 16.
