Subject: Winnipeg-born artist Markian Tarasiuk has returned to the city from his current home in LA to curate an immersive art exhibit about Ukrainian dance at the Oseredok centre. Tarasiuk is an alum of Winnipeg’s Rusalka Ukrainian Dance Ensemble, which he says helped him connect with both his father and his heritage over the years. The exhibit focuses on the dance ensemble’s 60-year history and Russia’s ongoing attempts to stamp out Ukrainian arts and culture by force. Eva Wasney June 1st 2023
