The owner says he’s seen about a 70 per cent drop in business since road construction started just outside his restaurant. He feels this is a necessary evil, however, as he’s glad to see the improvement in infrastructure. The project makes it difficult to reach his parking lot and causes lineups on the way there, he said. This is one of many summer construction projects going on now, as the city devoted $159 million to road repair in this year’s budget. Coun. Janice Lukes, chair of public works, said she feels the pain of businesses but it is great news to be able to devote so much cash to renewing infrastructure.
