Photo description:
Families from Westman and eastern Saskatchewan attended the annual Crossborders Community Growing Project harvest lunch in a field near Kola, Manitoba on Sept. 11. Due to overnight rain, the planned harvest of 267 acres of canola had to be postponed but the community still held their picnic. When the canola is harvested, the proceeds from the sale of the canola will benefit the Canadian Foodgrains Bank, which provides food assistance in areas in need around the world, as well as local organizations in Westman and eastern Saskatchewan.
