BROOK JONES / WINNIPEG FREE PRESS Fane Smeall, who owns Sk8 Skates with his family, is pictured at the local shop at 564 Main Street in Winnipeg, Man., Thursday, Oct. 6, 2023. Sk8 Skates is having a 40 per cent off sale called Last Season Snow. The 23-year-old fears the business might close because sales have dropped off during the past year and attributes it to a higher cost of living for people.
