The construction is part of a $5.75 million upgrade to a 2.2-kilometre stretch of the Trans-Canada Highway announced by the former Progressive Conservative governent of Manitoba in 2022. As part of the project, the province is resurfacing the eastbound and westbound lanes of the highway between the two junctions of Highway 10, and an additional 300 metres of road in both directions.
