MIKE DEAL / WINNIPEG FREE PRESS The Poppy Blanket creator, Sheila Lee Restall (left) and Susan Wakeman (right), one of the volunteers that help maintain the Poppy Blanket, reattach handmade poppies to the blanket on the Grand Staircase Monday morning. First unveiled in November of 2019 the Poppy Blanket is an 85 foot long collection of over 8000 handmade poppies and thousands of dedicated ribbons.
