MIKE DEAL / WINNIPEG FREE PRESS Brad Robertson, Manitoba’s Chief of Protocol, pulls the Poppy Blanket down the last few steps of the Grand Staircase, Monday morning. First unveiled in November of 2019 the Poppy Blanket is an 85 foot long collection of over 8000 handmade poppies and thousands of dedicated ribbons.
