Photo description:
Brothers Peter Gero, from left, Walter Gero and John Gero are the grand nephews to Joseph and William Paris, two brothers who were part of the original No. 2 Construction Battalion, a predominantly Black battalion that was formed in 1916 during the First World War in Nova Scotia. Since learning of their grand uncles' heritage earlier this year, John, Walter and Peter laid a wreath at the cenotaph during Brandon's Remembrance Day ceremony at the Keystone Centre on Saturday.
