TYLER SEARLE / WINNIPEG FREE PRESS From police release: Winnipeg, MB – At 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to reports of a fire in a vacant commercial structure in the 800 block of Main Street. When crews arrived to the scene, there was heavy smoke and flames coming from the building. Crews entered and fought the fire from inside, while also using an aerial ladder to protect a neighbouring church from fire extension. Crews completed a search of the building and no occupants were found. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation. The building had extensive damage from a previous fire.
