Building on a first-end early 4-0 lead, the Cale Dunbar rink swept to a 9-3 six-end victory in the Super League curling championship game held Sunday afternoon at the Brandon Curling Club. Team Dunbar faced Carberry skip Alyssa Calvert in the final after her rink upset Steve Irwin in their morning semi-final game. Dunbar’s rink of third Shayne MacGranachan, second Kyle Sambrook and lead Chris Campbell defeated Kelly Marnoch to earn a berth in the final. Team Calvert did not strike for their first point until the third while trailing 5-0, then scored again in the fourth to close the gap to 5-3. Team Dunbar then stole two points in the fifth and sixth ends to secure the triumph. Following the championship game, the winning foursome took turns sharing the photo with family and friends, including Campbell posing with his son on the sidelines.
