Nancy Allan, Minister  Ben Rempel Deputy Minister  Benjamin Amoyaw Policy Analyst  Tammy Axelsson, Mayor of Gimli Atli Asmundsson, the consul general for Iceland in Manitoba Olof Bjornsdottir, administraqtive and consular officer Embassy of Canada Iceland  Providing jobs most important  Immigration Minister Nancy Allan says says that at this particular time it is impossible to say how many Icelandic workers will be invited to work in Manitoba in the next few months with the possibility to apply for a permanent immigration status after having worked for at least six months in the province. Allan and her delegation arrived in Iceland yesterday morning and had their first meeting to sort out the agreement with Iceland's Minister of Social Affairs and Social Security, Asta Ragnheidur Johannesdottir, in the afternoon. "We want to set up a framwork," Allan said before the meeting started. She added that at this point they were concerned about moving workers and matching them to jobs in Manitoba. "That's more important than how many," she said.
