Ruth Bonneville / Free Press ENT - WAG - Motherground APEX: MOTHERGROUND The last chapter of the exhibition is not really a chapter at all but an entry into the video installation situated at the furthest physical corner of the WAG"S triangular gallery space,- bringing it all together. Children are invited to crawl through their own entrance to the installation using a small opening a the bottom of the gigantic Curtain wall. Note: photos show the work in the installation stage. Subject: A major new exhibition by Winnipeg-born francophone artist Dominique Rey is opening at the WAG on Friday. Motherground explores ideas of motherhood and art Ѡas well as where the bodies of mothers and children begin and end, and when children start separating from their mothers -- using small and large-scale photographs, photo collage, human-scale sculpture, and video installation.
