MAGGIE FRONT AND CENTRE: Children of the Earth is building a "learning lodge" in its backyard to be shared with Niji Mahkwa School. The Winnipeg School Division has grappled with limited space to do land-based learning compared to its counterparts with access to space outside city limits. The lodge will serve as a site for cultural teachings, events and celebrations. It is slated to be made "the traditional way" with willow and a fire-proof tarp. We're looking at land-based learning across the city at-large and how its growing in the public school system. Oct 30th, , 2024
