MIKE DEAL / FREE PRESS
Family and friends of Natalie Anderson (centre), who raised Xavia Butler until she was taken from her by CFS and given back to her biological mother in contravention of an agreement that the two first cousins had made, have set up a sacred fire in Memorial Park and plan to stay there through the weekend in protest.
Xavia Butler was recently identified as the remains that were discovered in June in the Rural Municipality of Grahamdale, about 250 kilometres northwest of Winnipeg.
Reporter: Maggie Macintosh
Note: I was given permission to include the sacred fire in my photos.
