A display of how to load a 60mm M19 CDN Mortar, which was used by Canadian forces during the war in Afghanistan, is on display at the RCA Museum in CFB Shilo. According to the museum description, the mortar has served in many theatres with the Canadian Forces. In Afghanistan, its relatively light weight proved to be an asset in the extreme heat and mountainous terrain. It was removed from general service in Canada in 1912. (Matt Goerzen/The Brandon Sun)
