MIKE DEAL / FREE PRESS
Linda Zuzanski, owner of Love Nest (80-1580 Taylor Avenue and 1341 Main Street) uses Canada Post to send online orders to customers (about one or two a day) because shipping companies won't take one or two packages at a time, and they don't get a signature when the package is delivered. Many of her suppliers are small businesses as well, and they too rely on Canada Post to send packages or receive payment via cheque (some aren't set up for bank transfers). "My online business is basically going to be shut down while the strike is on," Zuzanski said. "If the strike continues for too long, any small business that relies on shipping products with Canada Post is going to be in big trouble." She ordered inventory early for the holiday shopping season due to the strike threat.
Because of the Postal Strike Linda says that they will be allowing local pickup of online purchases at their Taylor Avenue location.
