Carberry and area residents stay warm around a fire and check out the Christmas lights on the CPKC Holiday Train during the trains stop in Carberry on Thursday evening. The annual holiday train has been running since 1999 and raises money for food banks in North America. According to CPKC more than $24.3 million and more than 5.3 million pounds of food has been donated. During the performance a check for $2500 was presented to the Carberry Food Cupboard. Non-perishable items were also collected for the local food cupboard. The Holiday train made an earlier stop in Portage la Prairie before finishing the night with a stop and performance in Brandon. It continues west today its first stop in Virden.
