09122024 Syndy Wright, a board member and social media manager for Brandon-Westman Christmas Cheer, takes a photo of volunteers Trish Toth, Maureen Cobb and Pat Cowan holding stuffed capybaras as they work on Monday morning to sort and organize thousands of stuffed animals, toques, mitts and gloves collected during the annual Brandon Wheat Kings Teddy Bear Toss night on Saturday. The majority of the donations are used in Christmas hampers. Some items like oversized stuffed animals or used stuffed animals cannot be used in the hampers but are put to use in other ways. Hampers will be delivered on December 18th and 19th and volunteers can sign up via the Brandon-Westman Christmas Cheer website to help with deliveries. Approximately 1100 hampers will be delivered.
